AboutCross Street Garage
Welcome to the Cross Street Group, a family-run business that has provided the self-west with exceptional service for over 50 years.
The Cross Street Group began when our Managing Director purchased a small three-bay workshop in Old Town Swindon. Through hard work and determination, the garage grew into a beloved and busy hub that the Old Town and surrounding areas couldn’t do without.
In 2007, expansions began, leading to the birth of Cross Street Garage Transfer Bridge. This large vehicle repair workshop has since evolved into Swindon’s biggest fleet service centre, performing MOTs, services, and repairs on all makes and models. Our clients include the public as well as some of the largest fleets in the region, including BT Openreach, Thames Water, the Military Police, and many more.
In 2011, Cross Street Cars was established, becoming Swindon’s go-to private hire company. Our continued growth has seen us provide transport for events like the Cheltenham Races and the Womad Festival, even taking Liverpool’s goalkeeper, Adam Bogdan, to the airport after a game against Swindon Town FC.
In 2017, the Cross Street Group acquired Cross Street Travel, a prominent coach travel company that supports local councils and offers private travel packages for our community.
On 3rd January 2024, the Cross Street Group took Wiltshire’s motor trade by surprise with the opening of two new sites: Cross Street Garage Thames Avenue, a three-bay workshop offering services, repairs, and MOTs to the local community, and Cross Street Commercials, a large HGV workshop that has since become an Isuzu main dealer. This site now services some major fleets, including Argos, Hercules Suction Excavators, and Wales and West Utilities.
After a successful year, The Cross Street Group has taken another exciting step forward with the purchase of Haskins Garage – a well-established and trusted garage in Wroughton.
In July, we began supporting Haskins’ valued customers by collecting and delivering their vehicles to our other sites, ensuring they remained mobile while work began behind the scenes.
On 1st September, we proudly re-opened Haskins Garage, keeping its respected name and welcoming back both loyal customers and former staff. We’re excited to see the growth of our fifth site and the opportunities it will bring.
Though the group has expanded significantly over the years, we have maintained our core values and added a team of highly experienced employees who share our commitment to quality service.
